Responsible Tourism Statement for Marlborough Vintners Hotel

Welcome to beautiful, sunny Marlborough. We hope you enjoy your stay with us and your time amongst the vineyards. MVH is committed to promoting sustainable tourism in an attempt to keep our environment clean and our property and surrounds beautiful for you to enjoy.
We use only the resources that our business requires and pledge to keep our impact on the environment to a minimum throughout the hotel. This includes recycling the waste that you produce; using energy efficient lighting and sensor lights in our accommodation; maintaining our own reticulated water and sewage system on site; promoting the use of local suppliers for our restaurant, toiletries and services.
We actively repay the impact that we are having on our environment by planting olive and citrus trees throughout the property; through our worm farm which produces compost for our restaurant kitchen garden; and by using our clean waste water on our gardens to water our grounds.
Our staff are all actively encouraged to recycle in every area of the hotel and to reduce their footprints by turning off equipment when not in use; turning taps and lights off when not required; and through education and training in sustainable practices.
We encourage you to use our dedicated recycling area and to help us reduce waste through your towel, electricity and water usage whilst you are staying. We encourage your feedback as to how we are doing with our sustainability practices and your suggestions on how we can improve.
